    North Dakota is using some of its COVID-19 pandemic relief funds to plug 239 abandoned oil wells and reclaim 2,000 acres of lands.     Khunjerab is the country’s oldest and largest national park and is a model of successful community-led management and conservation. Eight villages inside the park agreed not to graze livestock in a 12-square-kilometer area in exchange for designated grazing areas that rotate so each can recover after being used.     A pilot program has successfully launched an alternative-schedule employment initiative that eliminates barriers for employees who are kept out of the workforce because they are unable to work full time. Obstacles such as affordable childcare or access to reliable transportation are often reasons that people are unable to commit to a full workweek, making them harder to employ. Temp2Higher, the agency running the pilot, provided coaching to help participants manage barriers to full-time employment. The pilot program had a 30 percent success rate, which was considered a success for temp-to-hire employment.
