Un programa comunitario logra reducir más del 80% el matrimonio infantil en el norte de Nigeria

CrediMujer, un programa de microcréditos grupales con enfoque en educación financiera y empoderamiento, ha permitido que más de 139,000 mujeres peruanas en zonas rurales y periurbanas accedan a financiación, fortalezcan sus negocios, aumenten su independencia económica y transformen sus comunidades, al mismo tiempo que enfrentan barreras de acceso, conectividad y contextos sociales adversos. Han ortogado más de 259 millones de dólares en créditos.

Schools in Adamawa State are increasing the number of female teachers, which is inherently increasing the number of female students attending school. Previously, over 50% of girls in the area had not been in school, or dropped out, but with the increase of female teachers, the number of girls in school has dramatically increased.

The Kanyashree Prakalpa conditional cash transfer scheme helps support economically marginalized unmarried girls between the ages of 13 and 18 so they can stay in school and delay child marriage. Since launching, the scheme has helped increase enrollment in school and reduce the rate of child marriage in the region.

CARE Schools are free, half-public, half-private institutions that provide lessons in both Urdu and English. The schools teach both boys and girls, sometimes in co-ed classes, to promote gender equality and provide girls with equal opportunities in their education and increase their job prospects.

En el Centro de Reinserción Social Femenil, un programa de intervención con muchas alianzas transformó la experiencia menstrual de mujeres privadas de la libertad: Voluntarias educadoras menstruales permitieron brindar conocimientos técnicos, perspectivas de género, y nuevos suministros para que las mujeres privadas de la libertad y las custodias que protegen su seguridad tuvieran mayor sensibilidad cuando se habla de gestión menstrual.

Las escuelas agrícolas agroecológicas implementadas por ACUA y tres asociaciones de mujeres (AMC, AMP, AMH) constituyen un programa integral que combina formación técnica en agricultura orgánica con empoderamiento femenino y desarrollo de autonomía económica, utilizando una metodología "campesino a campesino." Más de 685 mujeres rurales en cuatro distritos de El Salvador ahora puedan generar ingresos propios, alimentar a sus familias de manera saludable y fortalecer su liderazgo comunitario mientras cultivan en tierras propias o alquiladas sin uso de químicos.

Tat Sat Kasasa Secondary School (TaSKA) is making education more accessible, affordable and inclusive for youth in rural communities, particularly young girls. As of March, TaSKA serves 120 students, 64 of which are girls. Along with education, the school also provides meals, medical care, extracurriculars and access to financial services to create a holistic educational experience.

Amidst Taliban restrictions on girls’ education, several people are looking for alternative options to further their education. One solution includes the University of the People, a free, online U.S.-accredited university. The virtual university helps make education more accessible and currently has 100,000 participating students worldwide.

The Anderson Scholar House in Indiana provides stable housing at a reduced rent price for single mothers enrolled in college. The organization aims to provide support and guidance so that life pressures don’t stop them from graduating.

Research is recognizing that to help women graduate from career programs additional supports and services are needed such as child care, domestic violence aid and emergency cash assistance. Programs, such as The Brighton Center, provide systems of support where students can list additional supports they need and receive the help they need to graduate.
