This collection focus upon the reuse and recycling of waste material. It gives examples as to how waste materials can be used to made things that benefits the community. Some of the major themes include the role of private businesses / groups in recycling. All the examples in this collection were ideas that came from private people. This shows that for things like recycling and how to reuse waste materials the governments are unlikely to step up and private citizens need to make efforts. Another big theme was how the reuse of material and plastic can benefit communities. Whether it's the building of bike paths, floating parks or schools recycling help to provide a positive benefit to the community. Further recycling can help the community by providing jobs, whether it's in manufacturing the recycled materials or simply in the process of recycling itself. One more them was that this is a global trend and not just one that is in one particular region. Reflecting this the collection has example from Europe, the United States and Africa. One of the interconnected socio-environmental that consistently occurs throughout the collection is plastic waste. Plastic waste is one of the most commonly recycled materials as it can be reshaped into different things building materials, there is also a significant amount of plastic waste which makes it an easy material to have access to. Another socio-environmental issue that appeared consistently throughout the collection is poverty effects peoples with regard to environmental factors. Although it is recycling has been done globally traditional wealthy areas have been able to greater maximum their recycling and reuse efforts.
