  1.  Innovative ideas, responsibility, global outreach, and sustainability.  Each of these articles touched on different aspects of the same thing.  Together, they have altered my perspective of agriculture across the world and I am now able to see the work that is being put in.
  2. The articles that I read were focused heavily on agricultural improvements in a number of different ways in different parts of the world.  I was most impressed by the innovative efforts being done in Japan by focusing on sun-free farms that are able to change the nutritional value of vegetables so that they are able to be eaten by people with kidney problems.  Seeing how a company that created computer machinery, Fujitsu, is able to dedicate time and space for innovative future farming is astonishing.  They are a proven result of how urban farming will be in the future.  I was also equally impressed with the efforts being made in Africa which combats the problem of malnutrition; a tremendous issue within the slums of Africa.  I was amazed at how the efforts focus on sustainability in a number of ways.  It focuses on hunger, financial instability, and water relief.  I hope to see these efforts in Japan and Kenya to be expanded and developed into other regions.
  3.  What changed my perspective the most was the amount of unique efforts being made across the world to change and lessen the problems that have faced those regions in the past.  I learned more about how easy it is to reduce water consumption in plants and rather focus on the importance of nutrient enhanced recycled water through ways such as hydroponics.  Plants are able to grow in a more controlled environment and incredibly nutritious.  I have always known that the world is focused on combatting world hunger, but i am now able to see truly useful ways in different parts of the world where the differences are being created.
  4. Outside of my main focus in agriculture, I glanced at some things in the energy & environment section as well.. I believe that these categories go hand in hand and I hope that social entrepreneurs across the globe are able to continue their progress and change the world.
  5.  I just want to repeat again the importance behind the care of the environment and the world hunger crisis.  There are so many great, innovative ideas and attempts being made across the globe.  It is important for people to recognize what is being done and change their ways.  Urban farming is the future and the steps/changes we make now are able to create huge progress later on.
